Girls day out & thank goodness for AC.

Yesterday was my first time...going to a Hobby Lobby. Gayle and Mom and I drove up to Phoenix for the relief society temple trip, did a session and then went to the brand new Hobby Lobby in Gilbert. Let me just say...that place is AWESOME. It was a lot of fun. Everything was 50% off--LOVE that. I came home last night and emailed their headquarters to tell them to build one in Sahuarita. We have a deplorable lack of good shopping here--especially craft stores. It's pathetic.

Anyhoo...then we went to lunch at this place called Dos Gringos--really good food, funny place. The bathroom stalls were professionally grafittied as part of the decor. Each stall had writing on the walls and door inside. Right above the toilet, mine said, "Instant photo booth...have a seat." Then on the door it said, "Smile for the camera." With other funny sayings about how cameras are everywhere and we can see you on other walls. Gayle said hers said "Thanks for dropping in." right above the toilet. It was a funny place.

Then, we headed over to Costco Home which was great, too. And then, of course, IKEA. By the end of the day we were pooped. But a good time was had by all--except for the fact that is was 117 degrees out!!! What the #$&*^%! I had heard that the planet could get that hot in some places, but holy crap. It felt like you were walking on the surface of the sun. Like the flaming, boiling cauldron's of hell. The air is so hot it burns your eyes. It's crazy hot. I honestly don't know how people lived in the south before air conditioning. I must just be a total wienee.

And some people actually like it, too! I'm just an Oregonian girl, I guess. Oh well, thank HEAVEN for air conditioning.
