Sophia has started pre-school 2 days a week from 8:30-11:30. Yes, that is 3 s
olid hours of alone time for me. Never thought I'd see the day and then...boom...here it is. I think if it were all day I might be sad, but for just 3 hours--it's wonderful. I take a shower without being interrupted 5 bazillion times, I get work done. I run errands--alone. I listen to music or my favorite talk radio shows. It's nice. And she loves it too. She now refuses to let me walk her to the door (preschool is at a lady's home in our neighborhood). Having been the littlest and spent much of her short 3 years riding along as I chauffeur her older sisters here and there--she insists that I stay in the car while she gets out herself and walks to the door alone. She waves and says "Bye, Mom!" She's also taking a dance class and wanted me to drop her off in front of the clubhouse which I refuse to do. SHE'S THREE!!! So I convinced her that she can't walk on any floor other than the dance floor with her ballet slippers on or they will be ruined. So now she lets me carry her in from the parking lot.The kids all seem to be happy in school. Eliza started middle school this year. That freaks me out a bit. Emma is in 4th grade, Lydia 2nd, Caleb Kindergarten and Sophie preschool. They're growing up. Here they are with all their school gear. Eliza is holding a locker shelf and not too happy about this picture--which just makes it more fun for me to put on the blog.

Life just keeps rolling along, whether I like it or not. Oh, and just for kicks and giggles...here is a picture of Harry with his latest hair-cut. He got really matted over the summer and we had to just buzz him. I'm referring to him as my naked yorkie nowadays. He needed alot of reassurance the first few days, but now he seems to really like it.

Jim remodeled my office and built me some beautiful shelves for my birthday. I'll take a picture and upload it soon. It is really nice to work in here now. Thank you, honey! I'm a lucky lady. Now if only I could pick this house up and move it somewhere that has seasons. Sigh...

Your kids are so cute, but growing up way too fast - I hate that. Mine do the same thing. Enjoy your time. Running errands alone is geat! My twins will be starting pre-school in a few more weeks, but theirs is only 2 hrs/3 days a week. Oh well, next year they start kindergarten - that'll be weird.
I can't wait....really you say " oh you should appreciate the time you have cause they are gonna grow up too fast" NO I say....I a ready for them to go! REALLY NO JOKE! Now I have a 5 coming.....heaven help me what have I done? you kids are so cute! and so big.....email me sometime! I miss you guys!
I know I say this all the time, but Caleb really is the cutest kid I know (well third cutest after my two). I'm glad you finally have some "Melinda time." You deserve it! I can't believe you did this 5 times!!! I can barely make it with the twins, and they aren't even walking yet! Give all of them a kiss for me and tell them how much I miss them. Love you all! Julie
Wow, Mel, your kids are so big! What a beautiful family! I found your blog, on Emilee's. So I thought I'd say HI! Now I'll have to keep tabs on you! ;-)
