I can't help it...

I try to keep my political views and beliefs off my personal blog (although I'm not sure why, since it's such a central part of who I am--maybe it's the journalist in me), but I guess just to keep it light-hearted and fun for family and friends. But I believe the stakes to be too high for me (or any of us) to keep quiet. If you don't want to read it, feel free to close your browser. After this, I won't post political commentary here. But I do keep another blog that I hope you will read and refer to friends.

It is called Mormon-Patriot. It was born of my world view. I consider myself to be a Wife, Mother, Mormon and American Patriot--in that order. And as such I feel I have a duty to speak up for good and righteous causes and make known that which is harmful to our families and society as a whole.

Please, take a minute to read the information I post at Mormon-Patriot.blogspot.com. I do extensive research to be sure that I am only posting the truth, along with my personal commentary. I am not a fear-monger, hate-monger or any other monger (well...I just might be a chocolate-monger, depending on exactly what that entails), but while you may not agree with my opinions, the facts and statements I post are TRUE, to the best of my research ability and knowledge.

I'm not a Ron Paul freak (although, really he has some good things to say), I'm not a McCain supporter (I believe he is more of a socialist than a conservative, but he is pro-life), I really like Sarah Palin for her common-sense approach and solid Pro-life stance, and I'm really hoping she does not end up corrupted by the political machinations of Washington. I think it would at least take a long while if it ever did happen. Joe Biden is an entrenched Congressional weasel who led the smear-campaign against Justice Clarence Thomas (the Anita Hill business was Biden's plot--a complete fabrication designed to destroy an honorable man).

But having said that, the main point that I feel needs to be shouted from the rooftops is that Barack Obama IS NOT WHAT HE PORTRAYS HIMSELF TO BE! Please, people at least look at the facts, his record and policies before throwing your support behind him. If you believe in what he WANTS TO DO as president, not just the wonderful ideals of hope and change and common good, etc. then by all means, he's your man. But, please make sure you know what you are voting for! It is our sacred duty, for which hundreds of thousands have laid down their lives. To be casual in this responsibility is to dishonor those sacrifices. Just make sure you are informed. That's all I'm saying.

Okay, my rant is over. I have officially "come out of the closet", so to speak. From now on the blog will only contain my personal and family fun stuff. All the other stuff will be kept to the Mormon-Patriot blog. Just promise me you'll look at it? Please?! Thank you. I feel better now.

I need some chocolate.
