New York Trip

I went to NY and saw lots of cool stuff, like:

The Statue of Liberty
(scratch that one off the list of "to do before I die".)

The Museum at Ellis Island was fascinating. I wish I had a whole day to just explore the history there. Very humbling place.

The ACTUAL Church where George Washington was Inaugurated
(right across the street from Ground Zero--alot of the headstones in the graveyard where broken, I think as a result of the buildings collapsing.)

Which leads me to my next picture:

Ground Zero
(it's under construction, so you really can't see much, but you can see the ENORMOUS hole in the middle of all the skyscrapers. Those buildings must have been just unbelievable to stand next to--they were so massive. Now it's just sad.)

Other places I saw where Central Park, Rockafeller Plaze, 5th Avenue, Times Square (oh, that reminds me--

I saw The Naked Cowboy (from a distance--besides the lack of clothing other than tighty-whities and boots--after I saw what he was doing to the women foolish enough to get their pictures taken with him I kept FAR away. Eewww.)

...Got "an authentic New York slice"...

...Ate at an awesome Amish Market...

...unsuccessfully stalked my favorite radio show host, Glenn Beck...

Rode subways (another ewww!), rode the bus and a subway to church in Brooklyn, saw Prospect Park (beautiful) and fall in Westchester County, got into a political discussion with a Puerto Rican crack head in Harlem, walked through Battery Park, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, went to New Jersey, got free financial advice from my brother who works here:

...and saw this...

Yes...those are mannequins of Barack Obama in the window. Can't say I've ever seen that before. So in a sense, I guess it was a truly historic thing to witness. Definitely a change...that's for sure.

All in all, it was a great experience. I loved seeing all the places I've only heard of all my life. But the best thing I saw was this...

I'm so jealous. I want to go to N.Y. so bad, I can hardly stand it.

Someday.

But I guess you had a better reason for going than just sightseeing. Congrats!
